Pearl, peppermint & ylang ylang, on sale at £11.97. Quite a pricey body scrub especially for 170ml worth. But I like this. It’s just so refreshing and the scrub is strong but not painful. Even using this with a wet skin, I still can get a good scrubbing. It lathers on well and the best feeling is after when my skin feels so smooth. It’s just so worth it. I don’t use a lot of it and I manage to get a good amount of skin covered. So a little is all you need for every wash.
This is so nice. It’s pretty. It’s pink. The smell, I kind of prefer the original S&G scent. But this is a good scrub. It’s coarse enough yet very gentle. This is 50ml travel size one. But I don’t think it’s wise to bring this along for traveling. The packaging kind of “leak”. As in it’s just not fully tight. Not secure enough. But I guess cause it’s the moisture. Like this is not a dry body scrub. It’s just very moisturing kind.
This is so good. It smell exactly like milk. It’s like putting on milk powder + fine sugar. You are suppose to put on for 3 minutes then rinse. I didn’t really get to leave it on for 3 min. I’m just to tired to wait that long. But my, my whole body is just so smooth and soft after. It’s so nice. I love it.
A good thing it’s in a pack, so it’s easy to bring this around. And you also know that it’s the right amount to use. But I do wish there’s a tub of this. I got this in a random supermarket at Krabi. It’s like maybe about $1. But it’s so good. It’s a good thing I bought a few just cause I wanted some body scrub for travel. I guess I can make this myself. The packaging say salt, but it smell sweet so it feels more like fine sugar to me. I guess will have to experience. But then, milk powder is kind of expensive in Singapore. Oh well.
Among all the S&G scent, this is my fav. The body scrub is a bit hard to lather on. So the way I use this is to take a handful and add on with a bit of body wash. It helps to get the scrub move across my body. The scrub particles are small and not abrasive. It’s rather gentle but powerful. At least it won’t break your skin but will give you a gentle rub down. This is just 50g, which is quite perfect in the bathroom. It doesn’t take up a lot of space. It will last awhile. It’s cute. Full stop.
They say that 80% of people in Singapore stay in HDB (public housing). My mom’s house is under the old layout which only has 1 bathroom. Basically it is 2. One for shower, the other is the toilet. There are 5 of us trying to use the shower daily. Thankfully, we have different schedule, so we never have to fight for the shower. We also have 4 “shelf” area where we put the shampoo and soap on. And 1 shelf is specially for me. While the rest sort of share shower gel and shampoo, I tend to have my own. The rest of the shelves consist of 1) shampoo (general, bro, sis), shower gel, 2) facial wash (mom, sis, bro), eczema soap, conditioner and 3) shower cap, mini toiletries, etc.
When it comes to my shelf, I have 9 item squeeze into the tiny space. Plus the conditioner which I usually share with my sis therefore it wont be on my shelf. Here are the item I am using at the moment.
I am in between shampoos. I am usually either using Avalon Organics thickening shampoo or Naturvital hair loss shampoo. Or maybe some Klorane. So it really depend.
2. Clarifying shampoo
I’ve been using this Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo for a while, and I really mean a while. I just cant seem to finish this up. I hardly use this as I don’t think this is as good. I try to use this once a week, but will be more if I took a late shower, cause I have no confidence in my oily hair. So this is just good for a day.
3. Hair mask/treatment
I tend to use more hair mask than conditioner. It is much thicker and I don’t have to use as much.
I like this. It’s thick and a little is all you need to make your hair extra smooth. I used it once and after for 3 days straight I don’t use any conditioner. My hair is still very smooth. I was so impressed. In term of strengthening, well I’m not really sure how good it is. But it’s really nice for tangle free hair for days. It’s also not that expensive.
I don’t like the shampoo and conditioner as much. Cause you really have to use a lot of it. But this one is much better.
4. Shower gel
I am not so fussy when it comes to shower gel, but I do love fruity scented shower gel. About 70% of the time, I am using TBS or Sephora. This time I have the mango creamy body wash from Sephora. This smells so much like mango pudding. It’s very creamy and foam up nicely. It doesn’t give crazy foam, but it’s nice on the body. It’s moisturising and doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry. I really like it.
5. Body scrub
This is the honey body scrub. I just cant get over the scent of TBS honey. its just so sweet and lovely. I really do love most of the scents from TBS and I just cant get over them. Bought this on sale, if not I will prefer to use the squeeze tube one which is for daily use. The tub one is to be used once or twice a week only as it is more abrasive.
6. Face wash
I’m not sure if I like this. It is quite watery. It has this scent that I can’t describe but it just feels organic and westernise herbal. Yea it doesn’t make sense, but that is that. I am not sure if this is the reason pimple kept popping out. In term of cleansing, this do great. It feels like it strip off moisture, yet it doesn’t leave your skin dry.
7. Facial scrub
This is TheFaceShop Flebeaute White Crystal Diamond Peeling. It’s not exactly a facial scrub, but I guess you can consider it as one. You can use it on a dry face or a wet one. It is so lovely on the face regardless. It foam up well. So on dry face, you use this in circular motion for about 1 minute, then you rinse it. It feels good on the face. And after you rinse off, your fave just feels super clean. With a wet face, this is less abrasive. But still function he same.
8. Hygiene wash
I use the travel size one. Especially for the brand Lactacyd, I will buy the 60ml at $2 cause ml by ml comparing to the full size, this is much cheaper. I pretty much tried all the different variants they have, and I like the original best. I am not so choosy on the brand I use. But not everything works well for me. The yellow bottle of Lactacyd is a no for me.
I will have a razor in the shower. This will be for my legs. I shave like every 2-3days. This one is the 3 blades one. The refills are not as expensive as the 4 or 5 blades. But I buy them on sale anyway. I know you are suppose to throw away the blade after like a few uses, but I will only throw it away if I feel that it’s no longer sharp. And that is a personal feel. But ya, I prefer guy shaver as they are slightly cheaper. And I use conditioner to lather up, so no problem there.
So those are the things I usually have in my bathroom. Different brand, but same function. I wish we can have bath tubs in HDB. I want to use Lush bombs so badly. Oh well, we can’t have everything.
This smells exactly like aftershave. So I think it’s really good for men. But after showering, the scent doesn’t stay on. So it’s good cause you won’t smell like aftershave.
It’s a scrub, it’s quite harsh but it’s moisturising. It is a little on the runny side so not those kind of lumpy wet sugar kind. So it applies easily on to the skin. But it doesn’t lather, so you have to really use a lot to cover the whole body.
Even though the scrub is harsh, this is ok to be used daily, I feel. It’s not so abrasive as it doesn’t contain as much scrub if that makes sense. So on the face it’s also just a very gentle scrub.
I got this from Sephora Sg online for $13. So it’s quite decently priced. But I think this is only good for people without sensitive skin and who loves the scent of aftershave. Would recommend it for guys who just want a 2 in 1 product – face and body, so easy.
Smells so good. It’s quite a tiny, harsh scrub. It is ok as long as you don’t put so much pressure on it. But what I love about this is that it is so moisturising. Once I rinse off, my skin feels so smooth. I love it. I love the scent too. Not too artificial but just very fresh. I recommend this scrub highly. It is also only $13, $10.40 during Sephora sale. Well I mean for 140ml, can be quite expensive but so worth it.
My colleague came back from Taiwan and bought me this. It’s a handy little thing. It’s been some times since I used a scrub. So I’ve been enjoying the change.
✅ Good gentle strong scrub
✅ Smells good. Clean.
✅ Doesn’t hurt
✅ Not bad overall
❎ Doesn’t lather very well
❎ Have to use a lot of product
❎ Don’t know where to buy
A good body scrub. I enjoy using it. It’s gentle yet powerful. I just don’t like that I have to use a lot of product. I squeeze out a golf ball size and that will be enough for only both my arms. Sure I can extend it out a bit but I have squeeze more for the rest of my body. I especially like to use this for my legs before shaving. It’s good for that.
I can’t be sure of the price but it’s not bad regardless.
My favorite scent from The Body Shop is strawberry. I have purchase them countless time and I love everything from it. But if I were to choose, these 3 will be my absolute top 3.
Strawberry body polish is a daily scrub. At least that’s what they told me. They say its more gentle than the scrub which you use once a week or fortnightly. So the polish can be use daily which is nice. It isn’t harsh at all. But I like that there are tiny seeds and granules that helps to polish off the dead skin.
Strawberry purée body lotion smells so heavenly. I love to use it in the morning and I will smell of strawberries for the rest of my journey to school. It absorbs into the skin pretty fast, not sticky and just lather on easily.
The strawberry shower gel smells lovely. I mean of course all smell so good, but it makes the bathroom filled with the scent of strawberries. It’s just so yummy and makes you want to stay in the shower forever. The gel itself lather on pretty well, but it doesn’t foam up. When you rinse it off, it can be quite drying, but it’s not extreme. And after a while, your skin is back to normal.
I love strawberries. What’s your favorite scent from the body shop?
1. Estée Lauder Soft Clean Moisture Rich Foaming Cleanser
I like this for removing my makeup, well face makeup. It has a nice florally scent and therefore it can stink your eyes. So I don’t use this to remove eye makeup. It lathers on really well and seems to do quite well in removing most of the foundation on my face. However I wouldn’t be buying this again as I prefer an all-in-one product.
2. Clean & Clear Active Clear Acne Clearing Cleanser
This is just a so-so cleanser in my opinion. It cleans alright, but doesn’t benefit me in anyway.
3. Klorane with Quinine and B vitamins
A revitalizing and strengthening shampoo for thinning hair. I have not had the chance to really buy a proper shampoo. This conveniently appeared in the shower, so I used it. This doesn’t lather easily which I don’t like. It makes my hair shiny in a good way, looks healthy and more volumizing which is great. But at the end of the day, it will be oily. It is also doesn’t seems to help with hair drop. So that’s disappointing.
4. TBS Satsuma Shower Gel
Oranges! While I don’t really like orange, this just smell so wonderful. Like all fruity series of TBS, it lingers on the skin after the shower. It refreshes and motivates me for the day ahead. I love it.
5. Ginvera Real Spa Lavender Shower Scrub
This is nice. Its a relaxing & calming shower scrub to relax stress and renew skin. The lavender scent is not too strong, the scrub is not harsh. And it’s a huge bottle, so it’s a value for money product. As a scrub it doesn’t seems to remove any dead skin. So I just use this as a normal soap and not a scrub.
So that’s it. I am sure it will change soon, especially the shower gel as it is only the travel size. Oh I have one more item and that is conditioner. I am using Sunsilk which I have reviewed here. So ya, do you guys always change product, or keep sticking to the same old thing?
