Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect

I have 2 of the black sugar perfect. I wasn’t sure what the different is. Apparently there are different kinds, like the scrub mask or cleansing oil.

The tub is essential scrub 2x.
A facial scrub featuring black sugar, refined rice wine, and botanical oils that transforms rough, dry skin leaving a radiant smooth complexion. Dead skin cells are gently removed, while skin is nourished and moisturized. Double the volume of the original Black Sugar Mask Wash Off.

It is a very gentle scrub. I feel like you should use this with dry hands and face to get the actual scrub. Cause when it is wet, it just turns soapy. Which is fine. But not exactly a scrub kind of scrub. With wet skin, I feel you can use this daily. Also, my skin feels sort of smooth after. Like it doesn’t really dry it off. So it is actually nice. It is just not the kind of scrub I expected.

The tube is scrub foam.
A gentle and effective scrub foam featuring black sugar granules, refined rice wine, and botanical oils to remove dead skin cells and leave a smooth, flawless complexion. Fine black sugar granules gently remove impurities while creamy foam soothes any irritation for the perfect cleanse.

It is a rough scrub when dry. But you are suppose to use this on a wet face. So it becomes more gentle. And it turn into foam. It is a nice daily facial foam with a slight granule to remove the dead skin. Nothing special about it, I feel.

The scrub, the tube is rougher than the tub. So if you want a stronger scrub, get the tube. And eventually it turn to foam. So it feels nicer. I also prefer the tube packaging as it is just easier to use. But the tub is nice cause you get to really get the last scoop and really see the product disappearing. And the tub is better for the after feel cause it is less drying.

I know the black sugar series is quite popular, but it is so-so for me. I cant remember the prices. But I think it is quite affordable.

So overall, both has its good and bad. Both is alright but not fantastic.

Shiseido Acne Washing Foam

This is nice. Less than $10 and it’s a very fuss free cleanser. It’s a scrub cleanser but for daily use. So quite surprising. I mean it’s not a scrub exactly but it has that little bit of grains. Also, this is for acne. While it doesn’t eliminate my spots completely, it helps to keep new ones for popping out. But so far, I can only find this in Taiwan.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser

I always thought that this is a scrub. End up, if I reread it carefully, it’s actually a foaming wash. This has a nice light citrus scent. Or maybe it’s not citrusy, but just something else altogether. But it’s still nice. The foam is not so much, but it does the job. It’s cleanse without leaving your skin dry. So it’s a nice daily face wash.

Dr Jart Clay Mask to Foaming Cleanser Trio

White, pink, green – the clays are a faint hint of the colour but mostly it appears white.

I like them enough, even though I don’t really see the differences between the 3. It’s like I just apply them leave them for 3 minutes then wash off using water. It’s more useful as a foam cleanser than as a mask.

The only thing I really like about this is that you can apply it as a makeup remover too. So you don’t need to spend an extra step removing your makeup. But as waterproof mascara goes, it’s still better to remove with a proper remover. Other than that, it’s a perfect all in one product.

Clinique Anti-blemish Solutions 3-step System

They say to keep using this and it will eventually give you less blemishes. The first couple of weeks, these actually break me out. Well I have like a spot on each side of my cheek. It’s just the weirdest thing. I continue to use them though cause I don’t want to waste them. I got these at $39, so you know that’s money.

The cleanser is a foam, I usually use 2-3 pumps cause I find that it’s quite little. I’m sure a pump is enough, but I don’t feel comfortable with just a little foam. It cleanse alright. No squeaky clean feel. So it’s quite nice.

Clarifying lotion is ok. There will always be a layer of white settling on the bottom of the bottle. Not sure if I have to keep shaking the toner before use or something. The white residue should be the anti-blemish solution. Anyway, the toner is just ok.

The moisturiser is an all over clarifying treatment. Not sure if I’m suppose to use a moisturiser after, but I just take it as this is it. It’s a nice texture. I like it.  It appears quite oily at first, but eventually it settles and my face will look matte. So it’s a good moisturiser for anyone with oily skin. It gives me the hydration without my skin feeling oily. Also, I think this works on my skin as after the spots on the cheeks disappear, my skin actually is quite clear. Except on those hormonial time.

So all in all, I’m quite pleased with the set. Plus it’s a good set for travelling too. I wouldn’t buy the full size though. I just don’t feel as excited using these as I should. I’m sure there are other products that I will rave more.

Morocco Ghassoul Pore Solution Foam Cleanser

I like this as it’s very foamy. It’s a good cleanser and doesn’t dry out my skin. You don’t really a lot to clean your whole face. But if I don’t note down the points of this cleanser after using, I would totally forgot about it. So it’s not something I would be recommending anyone. I like it, just not impressive enough.

Ole Henriksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser

This is a cleansing milk which foam up. So it’s very soothing on the face. I like it enough, but I don’t see anything special about it. It removes makeup well and doesn’t make my face dry. But the thing is, my face is back to being oily after about 6 hours. So this is not really meant for oily skin. It’s alright, but it is not targeted as such.

Nothing much else to say about this.

Perfect Whip

This was quite a rage all over Taipei. It’s a product from Japan, but you can pretty much see it everywhere in Taipei. Also, based on “what to buy in Taiwan” blog posts, this is one of the item that’s recommended. They say that it’s more expensive in Singapore. Anyway, in Taipei you can get it about TW99 for bulk pack. But that’s at a promo price. So normally it should be TW129.

I get why people like this. It’s very foamy. You literally need a pea size for your whole face. It smells kind of nice too. I don’t really get what is the scent but it’s pleasant.

In term of cleansing, it’s alright. Gentle and basically suitable for any skin type. I never try to remove any waterproof mascara with this so I don’t know how well it can perform. But it’s good for a daily cleanser.

First Impression: Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Foam

I find that this doesn’t foam up as much as I hope it would. So it doesn’t do such a good job in cleansing my face. I still have a lot of residue on my lids. The actual product is probably better. But given this, 1ml, I wasn’t impressed. So this is a no for me.

Holika Holika Soda PoreCleansing Cleansing Foam

I was just attracted to the word soda and pore cleansing is definitely up my alley. Do I like this? I wasn’t a fan at first, but I guess my skin kind of get used to it. Then again, actually no, I don’t really like it. But I don’t hate it either. It’s a good foaming cleanser. But I find that it can emphasis on my pores instead of cleansing it. So it’s quite a bugger about that. Plus my skin do get oily using this. Therefore I don’t really it.
