This is quite ok. You kind of suppose to use this on a dry face. But I try different methods anyway. In term of cleaning I find it’s alright. But it doesn’t remover my mascara. I don’t know, I don’t enjoy the experience much as I thought I would. But it’s a good cleanser for daily use. Plus as a cleansing milk, it is rather moisturising. So that’s nice I suppose. But ya, this doesn’t leave much of an impression on me.
This is such a nice sample. It is very gentle and I like that it has very micro particles to exfoliate the skin. I like this. It makes my skin very soft and smooth. It foams up quite easily. So no tugging at the skin. I also like that when you rinse your face, it doesn’t strip your face. So it’s a nice daily cleanser. It doesn’t claim to be a scrub but I like that it sort of is. Love this.
I’ve been using this and I was hoping that this will help with my pimples. But I don’t really see the result that I want. I think that this doesn’t exactly help, but it doesn’t worsen it. Which is a pity, cause I can buy cheaper face wash and get the same result. This ia 200ml for $35, so it is still ok. Not the cheapest, but not exactly what you will call expensive. As it is Clinique, the brand has that kind of price point. So it is fine. But I can use a $15 facial cleanser and feel the same. But for $35, this last a long time. So not bad. Plus I feel, if you don’t really have high expectation of this, you won’t be disappointed in the first place.
So if you don’t have expectation on this. Then, this cleanse makeup well. The formula is like a soft gel. So it is non drying and easy to rinse off. It doesn’t feel like it strip off your natural oil on your face, but you also feel like your face is just clean. No more oil residue, no more makeup residue. Mascara can also be remove. I never try it with stubborn waterproof one, but so far it is ok.
Overall it is not a bad cleanser. Just nothing wow about it. Then again, many people swear by Clinique skincare, but for me, it is just so-so.
This is a good way to try out the brand. But this set, is not exactly cheap. I can’t remember how much I got it for, but I think it is over $35.

The cleanser is alright. Not a big fan of it. It is better as a makeup remover, where you apply it on your dry skin and remove with cotton pad. The muslin cloth is quite rough. I am not sure if the texture is suppose to be such. But it is nice to have an extra face cloth and I always wanted a muslin cloth.
The toner is my fav as it is a spray. It is just so convenient to apply as a spray. The smell is a bit weird though.
Moisturiser is for day. Not sure why. I don’t see any declare SPF. But it is a fast absorbing cream indeed. I like it as a day moisturiser. It dries fast, and my face will not be super oily after. As long as I use a good sealing powder that is. Overall, it is an okay set. I wouldn’t exactly buy the full size though.
They say that 80% of people in Singapore stay in HDB (public housing). My mom’s house is under the old layout which only has 1 bathroom. Basically it is 2. One for shower, the other is the toilet. There are 5 of us trying to use the shower daily. Thankfully, we have different schedule, so we never have to fight for the shower. We also have 4 “shelf” area where we put the shampoo and soap on. And 1 shelf is specially for me. While the rest sort of share shower gel and shampoo, I tend to have my own. The rest of the shelves consist of 1) shampoo (general, bro, sis), shower gel, 2) facial wash (mom, sis, bro), eczema soap, conditioner and 3) shower cap, mini toiletries, etc.
When it comes to my shelf, I have 9 item squeeze into the tiny space. Plus the conditioner which I usually share with my sis therefore it wont be on my shelf. Here are the item I am using at the moment.
I am in between shampoos. I am usually either using Avalon Organics thickening shampoo or Naturvital hair loss shampoo. Or maybe some Klorane. So it really depend.
2. Clarifying shampoo
I’ve been using this Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo for a while, and I really mean a while. I just cant seem to finish this up. I hardly use this as I don’t think this is as good. I try to use this once a week, but will be more if I took a late shower, cause I have no confidence in my oily hair. So this is just good for a day.
3. Hair mask/treatment
I tend to use more hair mask than conditioner. It is much thicker and I don’t have to use as much.
I like this. It’s thick and a little is all you need to make your hair extra smooth. I used it once and after for 3 days straight I don’t use any conditioner. My hair is still very smooth. I was so impressed. In term of strengthening, well I’m not really sure how good it is. But it’s really nice for tangle free hair for days. It’s also not that expensive.
I don’t like the shampoo and conditioner as much. Cause you really have to use a lot of it. But this one is much better.
4. Shower gel
I am not so fussy when it comes to shower gel, but I do love fruity scented shower gel. About 70% of the time, I am using TBS or Sephora. This time I have the mango creamy body wash from Sephora. This smells so much like mango pudding. It’s very creamy and foam up nicely. It doesn’t give crazy foam, but it’s nice on the body. It’s moisturising and doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry. I really like it.
5. Body scrub
This is the honey body scrub. I just cant get over the scent of TBS honey. its just so sweet and lovely. I really do love most of the scents from TBS and I just cant get over them. Bought this on sale, if not I will prefer to use the squeeze tube one which is for daily use. The tub one is to be used once or twice a week only as it is more abrasive.
6. Face wash
I’m not sure if I like this. It is quite watery. It has this scent that I can’t describe but it just feels organic and westernise herbal. Yea it doesn’t make sense, but that is that. I am not sure if this is the reason pimple kept popping out. In term of cleansing, this do great. It feels like it strip off moisture, yet it doesn’t leave your skin dry.
7. Facial scrub
This is TheFaceShop Flebeaute White Crystal Diamond Peeling. It’s not exactly a facial scrub, but I guess you can consider it as one. You can use it on a dry face or a wet one. It is so lovely on the face regardless. It foam up well. So on dry face, you use this in circular motion for about 1 minute, then you rinse it. It feels good on the face. And after you rinse off, your fave just feels super clean. With a wet face, this is less abrasive. But still function he same.
8. Hygiene wash
I use the travel size one. Especially for the brand Lactacyd, I will buy the 60ml at $2 cause ml by ml comparing to the full size, this is much cheaper. I pretty much tried all the different variants they have, and I like the original best. I am not so choosy on the brand I use. But not everything works well for me. The yellow bottle of Lactacyd is a no for me.
I will have a razor in the shower. This will be for my legs. I shave like every 2-3days. This one is the 3 blades one. The refills are not as expensive as the 4 or 5 blades. But I buy them on sale anyway. I know you are suppose to throw away the blade after like a few uses, but I will only throw it away if I feel that it’s no longer sharp. And that is a personal feel. But ya, I prefer guy shaver as they are slightly cheaper. And I use conditioner to lather up, so no problem there.
So those are the things I usually have in my bathroom. Different brand, but same function. I wish we can have bath tubs in HDB. I want to use Lush bombs so badly. Oh well, we can’t have everything.
Not a big fan on the soap kind. It doesn’t foam up as well and it just feel like putting lotion on the body. For cleanser, it’s slightly better cause the face is smaller. So you basically just have a smaller area to focus on. It leathers alright. It foam up a bit, and it’s super gentle. Whether I like it enough, the answer is no. I like the size of the bottle. It’s good for traveling, but the product even though it’s dual usage, I don’t really like.
I am determine that FAB is not a brand for me. I tried two of their products and I don’t see results. This is a deep cleanser which is suppose to be really good for oily skin. But I don’t think it matter as much. It feels very average. And I feel that this cause my break out to continue on. So that’s really bad.
It’s a red gooey liquid which is quite cool but it is quite messy. The cap is filled with dry product. It’s not a nice look. So everytime I use this, I have to turn the bottle upside down then turn it back and squeeze some product out. If not all the product will ooze out. But this takes forever for me to finish, I guess I don’t use it as often. So I’m glad to finally say good bye. I probably won’t be using FAB in a long time cause I don’t really see the benefit. But I’m still curious over the moisturiser though. Oh well.
I originally bought the Foreo cause people say that in the long run will save your money. So I tried it for about 2 months and no matter what, I just had to get the Mia. I was just curious to compare the two.
Bought this at airport. It’s the US version so the plug is the only one I have to use an extender. It’s not as bad as I seldom charge it. At first I was like damn, this only last for 1 hour and I realise that 1 hour is actually at least a month of use. And if you don’t use it everyday, it will last a whole lot longer. I like that the charger is magnetic. So it’s really unique, at least to me. I also like the cleanser. It’s very gentle yet effective at removing makeup. It doesn’t break me out and I do think that it helps make my skin better.
The tool itself has 2 speed setting. And I think it’s a waste of money to get that as I don’t even bother changing the setting. It will automatically off once you use for that one cycle. So that’s nice or it can be irritating if you wanted to use longer. The brush is the sensitive skin. It’s suppose to be gentle which at first I find kind of rough. It’s like sort of exfoliating your skin in a very harsh way. I really don’t like that. Then I put less pressure when holding the Mia. I just sort barely touch the end of the brush on my face. I find that it’s so much better. It’s gentle and cleanse well. So for those who think that this is too harse, it might be the way you handle the tool.
Foreo, I get the blue one which is for oily skin. Does it really help with oily skin? No. I find that my face get worse with use. As in it just kept getting oily after a few hours. I never change my makeup look, so it just have to be this.
The tool itself, I really like for a make up removal. It’s very gentle and since you basically just charge once and it can last forever, it’s really convenient too. So far I haven’t had to charge it. It has this +- button to change the intensity but it’s quite useless to me. Cause I just never know when I had max it. But I do like that it does vibrate longer when it tell you that you are done with your cycle. So you can off it. But it will continue to vibrate. So you can continue. But anyway, the point is for you to have it off and on again cause you have to do the cycle twice. The second time is to use the back as a massager for anti aging care. Not sure if it’s useful. Sometime I use it. Sometime I just on and off cause I don’t have time.
So my verdict? I feel that both tool have their purpose. Like depending on what you want you need different tool. Foreo is good for daily cleansing. Clarisonic is good for deeper cleansing. I like them both. I use them both. But if I’m in a hurry, the Clarisonic is my choice cause it just seems faster. Foreo feels like your skin is being pampered kind of feel. But of course in the long run, Foreo is cheaper. As after about 2 months, I feel my Clarisonic brush head is quite dirty and I need to replace it. Even though I don’t use it daily.
So much raves about this cleanser that I just have to try it. It’s not a cheap cleanser by my standard. So I was disappointed when I find that this doesn’t really do much for my skin. It doesn’t help with my zits. In fact it made them worse. Still, I persist. Only towards the last 1/4 of the product that I find it ok, not in love but just ok. It became a normal cleanser for me. Still doesn’t do much, but at least it doesn’t irritate my skin much longer.
So I don’t really see what the raves are all about.
But here is what it does. It cleans makeup off. It does helps get rid of oil. It doesn’t leave your skin oily. Well, it helps control the oil for about 8ish hours. So that’s quite good. But I really do need a cleanser for my erupting face. And this is suppose to be suitable for sensitive skin, and it just is average for me. Maybe it will suit for really sensitive skin so much better, but this is just not for me. I will try the red packaging next, hopefully it will be better than this.
The challenge is to use these 2 products for 3 days to get better skin. Challenge accepted.
Biotox cleanser [10g] is quite nice, quite minty. It feels like a cream, but it lathers on quite smoothly. It doesn’t foam up. Even though it says it will. It said you can use this as a mask, but seeing the texture if it, I don’t see how it can be use as such. Too fragile, the consistency that is. Oh, it will foam up if I use quite a lot. But the instruction say to just use a tiny amount.
Biotox refining cream 2 [5g] smells really weird, like ulcer medicine, Bonjela. So it is really unpleasant to put on. Overall thoughts: only the first day I feel that this product is really working. The rest of the time, sure it dry out my blemishes, but that is it. It doesn’t improve it.
Therefore, challenge failed!
