This is a all in one hair treatment mask. It’s basically a leave on hair mask. This is a sample size and it’s supposedly sold in salons. It really has that salon scent. I like that it is small and it’s easy to use. The scent also seems like you step out of the salon. It’s a good sample to have for traveling. A good leave in conditioner substitute. It just makes your hair very smooth. I like it.
They say that 80% of people in Singapore stay in HDB (public housing). My mom’s house is under the old layout which only has 1 bathroom. Basically it is 2. One for shower, the other is the toilet. There are 5 of us trying to use the shower daily. Thankfully, we have different schedule, so we never have to fight for the shower. We also have 4 “shelf” area where we put the shampoo and soap on. And 1 shelf is specially for me. While the rest sort of share shower gel and shampoo, I tend to have my own. The rest of the shelves consist of 1) shampoo (general, bro, sis), shower gel, 2) facial wash (mom, sis, bro), eczema soap, conditioner and 3) shower cap, mini toiletries, etc.
When it comes to my shelf, I have 9 item squeeze into the tiny space. Plus the conditioner which I usually share with my sis therefore it wont be on my shelf. Here are the item I am using at the moment.
I am in between shampoos. I am usually either using Avalon Organics thickening shampoo or Naturvital hair loss shampoo. Or maybe some Klorane. So it really depend.
2. Clarifying shampoo
I’ve been using this Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo for a while, and I really mean a while. I just cant seem to finish this up. I hardly use this as I don’t think this is as good. I try to use this once a week, but will be more if I took a late shower, cause I have no confidence in my oily hair. So this is just good for a day.
3. Hair mask/treatment
I tend to use more hair mask than conditioner. It is much thicker and I don’t have to use as much.
I like this. It’s thick and a little is all you need to make your hair extra smooth. I used it once and after for 3 days straight I don’t use any conditioner. My hair is still very smooth. I was so impressed. In term of strengthening, well I’m not really sure how good it is. But it’s really nice for tangle free hair for days. It’s also not that expensive.
I don’t like the shampoo and conditioner as much. Cause you really have to use a lot of it. But this one is much better.
4. Shower gel
I am not so fussy when it comes to shower gel, but I do love fruity scented shower gel. About 70% of the time, I am using TBS or Sephora. This time I have the mango creamy body wash from Sephora. This smells so much like mango pudding. It’s very creamy and foam up nicely. It doesn’t give crazy foam, but it’s nice on the body. It’s moisturising and doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry. I really like it.
5. Body scrub
This is the honey body scrub. I just cant get over the scent of TBS honey. its just so sweet and lovely. I really do love most of the scents from TBS and I just cant get over them. Bought this on sale, if not I will prefer to use the squeeze tube one which is for daily use. The tub one is to be used once or twice a week only as it is more abrasive.
6. Face wash
I’m not sure if I like this. It is quite watery. It has this scent that I can’t describe but it just feels organic and westernise herbal. Yea it doesn’t make sense, but that is that. I am not sure if this is the reason pimple kept popping out. In term of cleansing, this do great. It feels like it strip off moisture, yet it doesn’t leave your skin dry.
7. Facial scrub
This is TheFaceShop Flebeaute White Crystal Diamond Peeling. It’s not exactly a facial scrub, but I guess you can consider it as one. You can use it on a dry face or a wet one. It is so lovely on the face regardless. It foam up well. So on dry face, you use this in circular motion for about 1 minute, then you rinse it. It feels good on the face. And after you rinse off, your fave just feels super clean. With a wet face, this is less abrasive. But still function he same.
8. Hygiene wash
I use the travel size one. Especially for the brand Lactacyd, I will buy the 60ml at $2 cause ml by ml comparing to the full size, this is much cheaper. I pretty much tried all the different variants they have, and I like the original best. I am not so choosy on the brand I use. But not everything works well for me. The yellow bottle of Lactacyd is a no for me.
I will have a razor in the shower. This will be for my legs. I shave like every 2-3days. This one is the 3 blades one. The refills are not as expensive as the 4 or 5 blades. But I buy them on sale anyway. I know you are suppose to throw away the blade after like a few uses, but I will only throw it away if I feel that it’s no longer sharp. And that is a personal feel. But ya, I prefer guy shaver as they are slightly cheaper. And I use conditioner to lather up, so no problem there.
So those are the things I usually have in my bathroom. Different brand, but same function. I wish we can have bath tubs in HDB. I want to use Lush bombs so badly. Oh well, we can’t have everything.
I’ve been using Pantene since I don’t know how long. Last time, it wasn’t such a big deal what shampoo or soap you are using, as long as it is decent. Now I find that I’m more choosy. I got the Pantene set for traveling as it comes with its own bag. And I got the conditioner cause I really like the packaging. I am weird right?!
The shampoo is decent enough. It doesn’t actually help to prevent hair fall, but it did help control my oily scalp looks clean for a day. So it is just average enough to me.
As conditioner goes, it just as good as others.
I also got the 3 minute leave in treatment. It is alright. I just find that it just makes my hair smooth, which it will be with a normal conditioner anyway. Sa but redundant. I want to tell myself that it really makes my hair better, but it doesn’t really.
For the proper full size one intensive hair mask, I use it a daily conditioner. The packaging just makes it fun. Cause you don’t have the turn the cover, just open and close kind,so it is easy. It is just cleaner and faster to handle. Plus what I really like is that a little does help to condition my hair. I don’t leave it on for 3 minutes as what it said, but it just spread out beautifully.
Usually conditioner, you have to use according to how much your hair need. For this a little and it somehow spreadable. Like you apply on the left side of your hair and the leftover residue which probably nonexistent on your hand can be apply on the right side too. Even when it feels like nothing is transfer onto the right, it just helps making hair smooth.
It is hard to explain in proper sentences, but I hope it makes sense.
So I really feel these don’t help with hair fall control, at least the mask is a good conditioner. The price is not that expensive. I bought it at Chinatown for less than $5. So it is not bad.
This is a leave in conditioner. I guess I mention a shampoo in my best of ’14, I feel kind of bad there is no conditioner. Personally I feel all conditioner works the same. It either works or it doesn’t. What makes a good conditioner in my book is that I can use a bit yet it smooths out my hair easily. It should not be overly greasy to the touch and doesn’t take forever to rinse off.
So with that, a leave in conditioner is really a better choice for me. I just don’t like that my hand will get soapy after, but this one is not bad. Doesn’t makes my hands sticky. Not sure about the price, but I got a feeling this is the kind of product you can only get a saloon, or maybe when you are in Singapore that is.
I’m really not sure what this is. It’s said a hair styling product, but it’s more like a conditioner to me. They say to use onto dry or damp hair. Not to rinse and start styling hair by hair or brush. It doesn’t harden or really do anything. It just makes my hair softer. And smells good though. Like the salon. I like it.
Updated: oh wait, silly me. The style part is its brand. The product is a hair moisturizer. For dandruff and scalp care. Ok. No wonder. It’s a leave-in hair treatment. Not sure about dandruff care, but I guess this is light enough that even dandruff scalp won’t have a problem using this.
To be use on towel dried or damp hair meaning hair that is still kind of wet. For best results, blow dry hair. That’s not very user friendly cause I don’t blow dry my hair at all.
I am not a big fan of this as I feel that it doesn’t do anything for my hair. It doesn’t make it silky, does not make it shiny, doesn’t makes it extra smooth. So I don’t see the purpose of this at all. I feel the product just disappear into the hair and run away or something like that.
The only thing I find to make this a successful product is as a leave-in conditioner. So technically if you forget to use conditioner it the shower, you can use this. It does help to smoothen hair out, but that’s about it.
There was a time, everyone and their mama used this product. Well not everyone, but it was super popular in Jakarta. Why do love it, is cause this is a miracle product. This is sort of like a hair dye, hair treatment and hair mask all in one. There are other brands that cater to brown hair, but it wasn’t as good as this one.
I shared this with my mom. At first we bought the individual pack which came with the disposable gloves. Then we bought the ones in this box. This box contains 10 sachets. We have to buy our own gloves. Since my mom regularly touch up her roots, disposable gloves is readily available at home, so it wasn’t a trouble for us.
Noni Black Hair Magic supposedly contains herbal medicine for hair nourishment essence which is pure natural essence that helps for blackening hair. They use USA technology, whatever that means. Anyway, the people on the street was saying how you are suppose to use at least 10 sachets, which is one box. Apply every week once for a month, after use once every 2-3 weeks.
Application is easy, it’s like a hair dye. First wet the hair, then towel dry. Wear disposable gloves, tear open one sachet and apply. Since its a dye, it will stain. So, have to be careful, especially white shirt. I like to use an old towel just so it stain my towel instead. But ya, basically apply just like how you will when you dye your hair at home. They also say to massage into the roots and leave on between 10-15 minutes. I use a hair cap to hold in my hair for that period. Lastly, rinse off with water.
This has a slight herbal scent to it. It isn’t overpowering but it can linger on after I wash my hair. I don’t shampoo my hair after rinsing, therefore the scent will still be there. Not a good pleasant scent for me.
So I just googled it. This really is a hair dye product. But it has the added benefit of effectively prevent hair loss, remove dandruffs and supplement nutrient to the roots of your hair. Which now I know why my hair is black now. Cause what I heard from the street was that this is for preventing hair loss and makes hair become healthy. Really nothing about dying the hair black.
It is no wonder. I always have amazing hair after using this. My hair is obviously shiny, healthy and jet black. My cousins will always comment, “I love your hair! Did you dye it?”
I did use it once a week for a month, then twice in the next month, followed by once every month. I can conclude that I like it cause it always my hair looking super healthy. It’s like just black and glowing and bouncy and flow beautifully. Just think of Pantene commercials. It is exactly like that. My hair is not even black in the first place. And eventually like all hair dye, your hair will grow and your roots will show.
So in the end, it is effective in eliminating white/gray hair. Can only be use for people who wants black hair. Doesn’t prevent hair loss. Dandruff wise, for me, it removes them, but that’s only it’s a non-oily treatment. Hair will be not be oily, so no dandruff will form (for me). So it’s not a treatment per se, just a better alternative to other hair dyes out there.
I’ve been using this conditioner forever. It doesn’t smell horrible. But it doesn’t have that fruity or flowery scent that I would prefer. I’m so used to this that it became my conditioner smell and I don’t know how to describe it.
I also have the hair treatment. This is to be left on for 3 minutes, like a mask. Unlike the conditioner which is to be left on for 1. But it just gives you the softest hair after.
Both smell the same. The conditioner is more user friendly with the tube. But if you want softer smooth looking hair and don’t mind the wait, you should use the treatment. Well, use it only once a week. Its much more richer than the conditioner though. Oh and cost more by $2.
But after using that, you can ignore the conditioner for 3 days. Cause your hair will be as smooth as when you applied conditioner. Well for me at least. I was born with annoying only to me soft smooth hair. But hair product and stuff kind of spoil it (e.g. curling my hair). So now I need conditioner. But ya, use the treatment and you have yourself smooth tangle free hair for 3 days.
So that’s like 1 minute wait = 1 day.
3 minutes = 3 days. Haha.
