There’s something beautiful about orange flame red with glitter. This can appear reddish, orange or pink. It’s quite a pretty shade. I like that it looks like a gloss when it’s on the lips but it’s not thick like one. It’s also easy to apply cause it’s a pencil. But having to sharpen this is a big turn off. The crayon glides on easily. In fact it’s rather soft. But. This is quite sticky. I guess it’s good cause it sort of last longer than what is expected. It’s sticky on the lips too. Wait about 3 minutes and it’s alright. It still slightly sticky but not irritating. Sonits rather nice in the end.
Nude or mauve that is the question. I always pick either these colours for my lip shade. I just gravitate towards them. This is actually quite a nice gradient lip product. The problem is, it doesn’t show up much, so I decided to fill in my lips. So this will show all the dry part of your lips.
The sponge part is a plastic silicon thing. It’s not that nice to use. It just doesn’t blur it colour properly. It’s better to just use your finger.
Anyway, I guess the colour doesn’t suit me very well. Like I will gravitate towards these kind of shades. But for some reason, this just doesn’t look as nice on my lips. So quite a regret getting this. I just don’t really enjoy using this.
Peacemaker is such a beautiful colour. It’s a very pigmented nude that is on the darker side. It’s so wearable and suited for any occasion. This also has a nice finish, it’s not too glossy.
Girl Lip Stylo is a statement piece itself. It’s too short compare to all the lip crayon. But it’s longer than most of the lipstick. The packaging is just nice. It’s a twist up, so no sharpening is needed. The downside is that when you take out the cap, the product is already out. So it’s easy for it to get ruined. When you pull out the cap, it can hit the lipstick. When you cover, you can accidently hit it too. So you have to be very center, slowly and vertically close the cap.
I don’t like the fact that I have to be careful using this. I have to be gentle in opening and closing. But at least the product is quite sturdy. It’s sturdy but transfer well on to the lips. It just glide on like butter. I really like that. I like that it’s pigmented and comfortable on the lips. So much so I forgotten I had this on my lips. It will transfer slightly on to the cups. But it still stay on for quite a good period. So I’m quite impressed by that.
The colour is beautiful too, but that’s just lucky cause I happened to choose a good colour. Not sure about the rest. I probably wouldn’t buy others as I don’t like how careful I have to be with this. It’s still beautiful. If only the packaging would change. Anyway, I bought this at $48 from Sephora.
This is a brick red shade. I never expect to actually like this kind of shade. But on me, the colour is really nice. It suits my skintone. It suits me. It’s very smooth like butter. It’s quite sturdy but glide on easily. It’s rather sheer with a touch of glossiness. So it has dimension. I like that it’s fuss free. Doesn’t claim to be long lasting or anything. So it’s really a low expectation kind of lip product. Very comfortable on the lips and the best part, it’s not expensive. I highly recommend NYC lip crayons. I’m sure all the colours are good.
I’m not sure if the shade is intimacy lip color or 20100. Anyway this is a bigger version of lip liner or a smaller version of lip crayon. It does say that it is a crayon lipstick. It’s quite dry, I guess cause it’s the fact that it is matte. But I feel the texture is more like lip liner.
I like the colour. It’s wearable. So it’s good. But it’s just way too dry for me. It also smells like a crayon. I mean I think it’s fine. It’s just gonna be a pain when the product run down. You have to find the right size sharpener. So that will eventually be a bummer.
This is another Colourpop purchase. It’s cheaper to buy in a set. US$5 instead of the usual $6 per pop. This is the famous lippie stix. This set has all the matte x formula. I was hoping that it will be very smooth and easy to apply, but as always with darker colours, it’s not going to happen. The set is cool, cause it came with this box that has a magnetic closure and a good size mirror. So it’s nice as a mini keepsake box or something. Very sturdy and a good size. The lippies came cushioned with a grey foam support which you can remove. (Update: I was wrong. The glue is stickier than expected. Therefore I have to cut out a piece of pretty paper to cover the damaged I made at the bottom.)
The only sad thing about sets; you can’t choose the colours. Sometime you will get a shade in a set that you already have. Or it’s something that won’t suit you. I bought this because I wanted to try these lippie stix. The colours looked good online. But in person, I was hoping for less fall more neutral. It just goes to show, you can’t really depend on other people’s swatches. Cause it all look different on different people.
A classic 2016 nude aka the classic 1985 colour. This is more brick brown. So it has a red undertone in it. I like it but I feel that I have too much brown in my collection. Plus, this is not so good on a dry lips. It brings out the obvious.
A mauve brown, the most wearable shade for me. This is easy to apply, at least compared to the rest. I like this the most but it still appear a bit dark on me. I would not wear this for work, but I will use this for a day out. If only this was a bit more soft.
A deep purple shade, the perfect fall colour. It’s so dark, I doubt I will wear this at all. It’s hard to apply. No matter how careful you line the lips, it will still be quite messy. But this makes a nice stain after the product is gone.
When you think goldie, you’ll think golden curls with red lips. But this is supposed to be a brownish red. It’s actually really nice on the lips. It will slightly stain the lips. A bit hard to apply. I guess lipliner is a must. It’s pretty nonetheless; a good dinner colour. Plus the shade really turn matte the fastest.
Overall, the set is ok. The stix are creamy, glide on well, a tad messy to apply (some of them) but generally nice lip product. I only have the matte x formula, so I can’t compare. But it’s not extremely drying and I feel it really comes down to individual shade and your own lips.
For the price, it’s good. I just don’t think they are as fantastic as what some people say. I really do want to try more shades and more formula though. It is hard to get this kind product below $10 in Singapore.
I really love this formula. It’s so far the most long lasting lip product I’d ever used. So this is my go to product for events. It just leave behind a very pigmented stain so it looks as if you are wearing colour. No touch up is needed.
It’s also a very pretty matte hot pink. It looks almost red, so it’s really nice for night time. It just brighten up your face. It transfer a bit, but that’s it. Just a bit. Really worth the $12 I got this for.
I wish this is not discontinued. I wish this can be bought in Singapore.
This is one of the most beautiful red I’ve ever lay eyes on. It just looks so juicy. This is the lalaque, which is suppose to be shiny. But the product is so soft that it just kept breaking. Not sure if it’s the weather, so it’s just naturally soft. So will have to put this in the freezer before use.
Since it’s so creamy, it’s hard to get everything inside the line. It can, but it will sort of move around. Formula wise, I think I still prefer the matte one. But this is just so pretty. I would love to be able to pull this off for a night out.
This is such a beautiful colour. It’s a purple hue but very wearable. It’s comfortable on the lips too. Very glossy and wear more like a balm. But it’s not a soft crayon. I just love this. It’s one of the better crayon in the market. Even though I feel most lip crayon will not fail you. It’s just the colour selection that make or break the product. Plum Russian is two thumbs up!
I thought I just try these 2 out. I got one matte and one satin. The black packaging Matte Lip Pencil is in the shade 5. It’s a beautiful coral, more towards peach. As a matte lip, it’s very drying. And with my dry lips, it really is the worse. The colours is quite light on me. So it doesn’t transfer well. Even on normal less dry lips days, this doesn’t look as good. It still emphasis the dryness. Not sure if it is the colour or the overall formula of the matte pencil.
Satin Lip Pencil on the other hand is a beautiful nude that is quite lovely on the lips. This is in the shade 6. It transfer well on the lips and yes it still show a bit of the dryness, but it is not as bad. I prefer this obviously, but the formula is really much better. It’s smoother and more comfortable on the lips.
I can’t remember how much these cost. But if I’m not wrong it’s $8+ each. So, not really worth actually. It’s better to get the MUA one.
