Rouge Coco – 21 Rivoli

Was looking for a something a little bit darker than the usual red. Then the SA intro me to the shade Rivoli. It’s a beautiful deep berry colour. The best part is that it’s so dark, so it sort of stain the lips. Which is really prefect. So at least you won’t be left with empty bare lips.

Rouge Coco is very smooth and easy to apply. It’s a glossy finish and is pigmented on the first apply. It can also be used sparingly, with just tapping the lips using the finger. It will just gives a very light berry stain. Double coat makes it more deep. It’s beautiful on the lips regardless.

As it’s a dark colour. It’s quite messy to apply. The colour doesn’t run much, but you really have to carefully apply it. Regardless no regret.

Coco Mademoiselle

I finally finished up a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle. It’s an EDP, so it’s strong and therefore just a few spritz is enough to last. The scent is very strong but it will spread out on the skin and it becomes more mild. It is like a powered scent but not those baby powder. It’s a very woman perfume. Not flowery, not musky, not sweet and not spicy. It is fresh, but not those out of shower fresh, soap scent I guess; it is also not, hmmm. It smells nice obviously, if not I wouldn’t be finishing the bottle, but I just don’t know how to describe it.

The composition is focused on two characteristic ingredients of Chanel editions – jasmine absolute and May rose absolute. Delicate flowers are enhanced and enriched with a touch of Florentine iris.

Top notes of Coco Mademoiselle Parfum incorporate Sicilian oranges, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian grapefruit. A floral heart is created of pure rose extract and pure jasmine extract, along with a fruity touch of litchi, while its base notes carry a combination of Indonesian patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla ad white musk. This fragrance is dedicated to courageous, brave and modern women who prefer luxury and elegance.

The notes are flowers, but it’s not florally. Hmmm I’m so bad at describing perfume. But anyway, this is one the best classic scent that you can use day and night. The kind of scent that will be up there on the top floors of Ion Orchard.

Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Sand

There will just be those days when you decide to buy something luxurious. In this case, it is Chanel singles. The casing just makes me so happy. Sand is a typical neutral brown. It is actually quite light and it’s not so pigmented. I don’t really think that this is a good quality product. It is quite patchy.

First swatch is uneven. So it has to be layered. On the lids, it is ok. It is just a plain neutral shade. I like it for the crease or for all over lid color. Overall it is an easy color to use. And of course there is the factor when you use it, you’ll be happy cause it’s Chanel.

Best of ’14: Lipstick – Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante

I have another red for Chanel. I especially love their rouge allure lipstick packaging, but this is the matte formula. An oldie but a goodie, and I can’t believe this is not reviewed a long time ago.
chanelRouge Allure velvet
I don’t know if you can see the gloss on the swatch, but it does have a little shine, which is not suppose to. It is also not 100% pigmented, but you can build it up until it becomes a really rich berry red. It’s so pretty. I love it. Among all the red lipsticks, I feel that this one is the one that compliment me the most. I guess cause it is not that red, more of a berry on my pigmented lip. Actually it is just a true blue based red.

I also love the way it applies – so smooth. I guess if have to compare between the rouge allure and rouge allure velvet, I prefer the velvet. The formula and texture is much nicer. It doesn’t feel drying so that is good. But with most red lipstick, you have to use a liner, so that is the only problem I found with wearing bold colors. Then again, it looks great, so why not.

Honorable Mention: MUR Dare – I like it better a bit better cause of the no need liner bit, but you know Chanel is Chanel, and you can’t brush Chanel aside.

Rouge Allure Laque 75

Rouge Allure Laque 75Chanel liquid lipstick and yes another red. I think when it comes to Chanel lip product, you kind of have to only choose the color red. Ok that’s not true, as I do have others that are not red.

This is a muted red. It has hint of brown in it. But really depend on the lighting.

The pigmentation is superb. The application is good. The brush kind of make it easy to apply without going over the line. It’s precise. It is smooth. It is shiny. It is beautiful and it is pricey. Well I am not the one who buy this, so I don’t know the price. I also don’t know if it is a full size.

But just look at it. Every time I apply this, I always think of candied apple; or Snow White. Just so pretty. The best part is, it doesn’t look scary worn in the day. So it’s good.

Will repurchase? Yup!!
In other color? Yes!!

Rouge Allure in Passion

Rouge Allure in Passion
Upon research, they say this lipstick is suppose to be a bright red. I don’t know, but to me it is more of a red with a berry undertone. It doesn’t scream bright. Or my lighting is not that bright after all. But even on the lips, it wasn’t bright. Or my pigmented lips make the color seems darker? Nonetheless it is a pretty red.
What I love about this is that it has a normal application of lipstick. As in for once, I do not have to use a lip liner to use this lipstick. It doesn’t feather out which is awesome. I still have to be careful, but I can just apply it easily. It also feels nice on the lips.

red lipsticks
So here is the comparison of some of my red lipsticks. If you look at it, you will think all red are pretty much the same. But for some reason, different lipstick just give you a different look. Even though they are pretty much the same shade. That is my excuse as I am loving red and I keep picking up red lipsticks nowadays.

Will repurchase? Yes, love Chanel lipsticks.
In other color? Yes.

Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base

Getting into makeup kind of drive you towards the ideal steps of makeup application. It also teaches you that you want your makeup to last longer your face. So a base is very important. You need to prime the face for the foundation to last longer. Of course there’s primer for different kind of needs.

This Chanel sheer illuminating base is as what it said an illuminating primer. It has so much rave I had to try it. I still think I fail at applying primer as I don’t like the effect they give. I find that primer makes my foundation super flaky and streaky. So whenever I use primer I will use the tiniest amount of foundation.
A sheer white base that is quite thick at first. It’s watery but thick if you know what I mean. The bottle has no pump so a lot can come out despite it being slowly pour out. It smooth out my skin so foundation apply easier but still streaky. And I will have to avoid my nose area.

Once I blend out everything perfectly and done with the rest of bits and pieces, my face is just glowing. Glowing in a wonderful way. It’s so glowy and healthy looking. I love it so much. Until an hour later when it started to get more shiny and I knew it was the end. My face turn oily. Not that bad yet but I knew it was only a matter of time. So I had to blot a lot. I guess this isn’t for oily skin. But for a moment I did have the best illuminating face.

Since it was expensive, I had no choice but to keep using it. I find that if I stayed in cold air condition room, the oil control will be better. I do still have to blot and touch up, but it wasn’t as bad. In the end I think I still prefer a matte look.

Channel Glossimer in coral love

It is a really pretty color. Coral with a hint of shimmer. A pity it can’t last long. I forgot I had it. It was stashed in some old bag, and when I tried it on, it was so sticky and barely glide. The color is not opaque. So it’s pretty much just shine with a bit of the peachy tone. My other lip gloss doesn’t get bad that easily. It can last, I don’t know why Chanel one is just so sticky. Pity.
Above was being compare with Estée Lauder electric ginger. While EL one is more sheer, it has a nicer smell. So I prefer the EL, as both turn out pretty the same on the lips. Oh of course I have darker lips. Maybe on those not so pigmented, will be better.

I don’t know if this color is still available on the counter, but I don’t think I’ll be getting Chanel lip glosses as there are more glosses out there for me to try on. And so far, Chanel glosses are not a favorite.
