First Impression: Sephora Shea Lip Mask

I am loving lip masks. I had to try Sephora’s one. I got the Shea lip mask. It’s alright. It’s one side gel like, the other side is just a clothe like. So it’s not as fun as Pure Smile Choosy lip mask which is just full-on gel mask. There’s a slit in the centre which is not a straight slit. So it’s quite weird to me. It is suppose to help you in a way? Like so you can get a drink or talk? So ya, a bit weird.

The only think I feel that this is worth purchasing is that after, my lips feel very moisturised. It helps with the chapped lips. So it does work. I feel with extreme dry lips, you use this for 2/3 days, and I’m sure your lips are back to normal. So yah, for $4 it’s not bad.

Rouge Infusion Red 10 Essence

This is a mini version of the rouge infusion. I got one in the red shade 10. It’s a deep blood red. A rusty red. Quite pretty for fall when swatched. It can be apply sheer or super pigmented. However I find that it’s a bit patchy upon application. When you take it out of the tube, a lot of the product is on the brush. When you apply it, it doesn’t get a nice smooth finish. The only thing I like is that in the end, I get a stain on my lips. And the tube is small so it’s cute. But this is not a good shade.

Sephora Sheet Masks

I’ve been wanting to compile all the sheet masks I’d try from Sephora. And behold, the change the mask into the invisilk mask now. Guess they change supplier or something. But anyway, below are all the masks from Sephora. I do believe is all the Sephora sheet masks.

Pomegranate mask for antioxidant and energizing. It’s alright. Doesn’t leave a big impact in my life. I put this on and the next day I totally forgot how I feel about it. So it’s just neutral. For some reason, this mask is quite big on my face. Then again, I also wore it in such a side looped way.

Ginseng mask for firming and toning. Does it really will help to firm up the skin? I don’t really think so, but this mask feels quite tight on the face. At least as compare to the rest. The ginseng scent is faint, but you can smell it the first time you put it on.

Green tea mask for mattifying and antiblemish. I really like this. It’s very soothing when applied. I will repurchase this. I really like the soothing feeling it gives me. Sure a lot of masks have that effect but for some reason this just the one once I put on I was like oh I got to buy more of this. So it really is just one of those product that I truly enjoy using.

Lotus mask for hydrating and soothing is not so cooling. I don’t know if it’s cause I’m not using it in aircon room or what. It’s also quite uneven. The right part there just seems to have extra flap that kept falling off. Lotus smells so good though. I also find that this is quite itchy on me. And after removing the mask, my face feel quite sticky. I think this will be good for really dry skin.

Rose mask for ultra hydrating and brightening has a very light scented rose. It’s not so obvious unless you take note of it. This mask feels really big on me and it just doesn’t stay put.

Orchid mask for youth-activating and regenerating. This is a cooling mask. It’s also irritate my skin especially around my spots. For some reason, the mask kept falling off my face. It just doesn’t stick. But this smells really good though. And after removing the mask, my face looks “cleaner”. It’s quite good if you need a quick regenerating. But this is not recommended for acne skin. So it’s not for me.

Marine algae for deeply hydrating and nourishing is a mask I will recommend for people with dry skin. This is a big mask, so will suit most face shape. It’s wet so it will stick on the face quite nicely. It is slightly cooling and feels nice on the skin. It’s just a very relaxing mask. I put this on for almost half an hour, and the mask is still quite wet. It is just overload with the essence. So it’s really good for dry skin or anyone in need of hydration. This also has a slight faint scent of something breezy. That’s why it’s very relaxing I guess.

Job’s tears for whitening and moisturising doesn’t leave much of an impression on me. The fit is good. It’s moisturising alright, but whitening, I don’t really see the effect. Plus this kind tends to give me spots or at least I think it does. I can’t actually really say. But the mask is ok.

Honey for nourishing and balancing. Not sure what that is. Does it nourish my skin? I don’t think so. Not sure what balance do. But this mask really smells like honey. It’s not overpowering, but it’s quite nice. The problem is that this way too big and it just doesn’t stay put. Honey is like a limited edition cause I don’t see it being sold. It was a gift with purchase for me. So technically free, but I don’t enjoy using this one. It’s the size of the mask that just doesn’t stay on your face.

Avocado mask for moisturising and nourishing. This kind of irritate my skin a little. It wasn’t as bad, but not really enjoyable to use. The mask is a tad to big, but the essence is not as crazy. So it is wet enough to stick onto the face. I have to press the sides to make sure it stick on my face. Once I remove the mask, it’s quite sticky. I manage to pat it dry after awhile. The next morning my skin feels good though. It’s “nourished”. That’s the only way I can describe it. I look fresh, even though I was super sleepy. So not my fav, but worth the try if I can look fresh every morning.

Pearl mask for perfecting and brightening is an ok mask. The sheet is quite big but I manage to pat it on the sides to fit my face. Luckily it manage to stick on the edge of my face, thus the mask manage to stay put. I like this as the packaging is different from the others. This one is a suede matte thick paper unlike the rest. But the mask itself doesn’t leave a good enough impression on me. It’s just alright.

So I find that all the masks are different. I thought all be made in the same template, but I guess they are all differ in sizes. It really depend on which one you get. So you either like it or hate it. Anyway, just a comparison between the old and new mask. Below is the invisilk mask. And both still cost $4 each.

Pearl invisilk mask for perfecting and brightening is the same as the old one. So each one is still have the same purpose. The sheet is better. It’s clear which is why it’s call invisilk. I like it. It fits better and it’s thinner. So it’s just nicer on the face. It’s naturally cooling. It’s just after about 10 minutes, this irritate my face. But ok not bad, it does feel like it brighten up my face. And once I remove the mask, the sheet appear to be more white. It’s interesting.

Sephora Ultimate Warming Cleanser

I have this and the travel size from the Sephora gold card welcome gift. It’s a very honey like cleanser. So it’s hard to spread. Especially since you are suppose to use this on a dry face. But once you get it work in to the skin, it starts to get warm. Which is really the best part, cause it’s just so pampering. Also, once it’s foam up a little after a lot of scribing in, it gets easier to lather on the face. It cleanses really well too. Even with a wet face, I can feel a bit of warm, and it still work. As in, it still is a good cleanser. So a bit of water do help to lather up the cleanser.

What’s In My Shower

They say that 80% of people in Singapore stay in HDB (public housing). My mom’s house is under the old layout which only has 1 bathroom. Basically it is 2. One for shower, the other is the toilet. There are 5 of us trying to use the shower daily. Thankfully, we have different schedule, so we never have to fight for the shower. We also have 4 “shelf” area where we put the shampoo and soap on. And 1 shelf is specially for me. While the rest sort of share shower gel and shampoo, I tend to have my own. The rest of the shelves consist of 1) shampoo (general, bro, sis), shower gel, 2) facial wash (mom, sis, bro), eczema soap, conditioner and 3) shower cap, mini toiletries, etc.

When it comes to my shelf, I have 9 item squeeze into the tiny space. Plus the conditioner which I usually share with my sis therefore it wont be on my shelf. Here are the item I am using at the moment.
1.Shampoo
I am in between shampoos. I am usually either using Avalon Organics thickening shampoo or Naturvital hair loss shampoo. Or maybe some Klorane. So it really depend.

2. Clarifying shampoo

I’ve been using this Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo for a while, and I really mean a while. I just cant seem to finish this up. I hardly use this as I don’t think this is as good. I try to use this once a week, but will be more if I took a late shower, cause I have no confidence in my oily hair. So this is just good for a day.

3. Hair mask/treatment
I tend to use more hair mask than conditioner. It is much thicker and I don’t have to use as much.

I like this. It’s thick and a little is all you need to make your hair extra smooth. I used it once and after for 3 days straight I don’t use any conditioner. My hair is still very smooth. I was so impressed. In term of strengthening, well I’m not really sure how good it is. But it’s really nice for tangle free hair for days. It’s also not that expensive.

I don’t like the shampoo and conditioner as much. Cause you really have to use a lot of it. But this one is much better.

4. Shower gel

I am not so fussy when it comes to shower gel, but I do love fruity scented shower gel. About 70% of the time, I am using TBS or Sephora. This time I have the mango creamy body wash from Sephora. This smells so much like mango pudding. It’s very creamy and foam up nicely. It doesn’t give crazy foam, but it’s nice on the body. It’s moisturising and doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry. I really like it.

5. Body scrub

This is the honey body scrub. I just cant get over the scent of TBS honey. its just so sweet and lovely. I really do love most of the scents from TBS and I just cant get over them. Bought this on sale, if not I will prefer to use the squeeze tube one which is for daily use. The tub one is to be used once or twice a week only as it is more abrasive.

6. Face wash

I’m not sure if I like this. It is quite watery. It has this scent that I can’t describe but it just feels organic and westernise herbal. Yea it doesn’t make sense, but that is that. I am not sure if this is the reason pimple kept popping out. In term of cleansing, this do great. It feels like it strip off moisture, yet it doesn’t leave your skin dry.

7. Facial scrub

This is TheFaceShop Flebeaute White Crystal Diamond Peeling. It’s not exactly a facial scrub, but I guess you can consider it as one. You can use it on a dry face or a wet one. It is so lovely on the face regardless. It foam up well. So on dry face, you use this in circular motion for about 1 minute, then you rinse it. It feels good on the face. And after you rinse off, your fave just feels super clean. With a wet face, this is less abrasive. But still function he same.

8. Hygiene wash

I use the travel size one. Especially for the brand Lactacyd, I will buy the 60ml at $2 cause ml by ml comparing to the full size, this is much cheaper. I pretty much tried all the different variants they have, and I like the original best. I am not so choosy on the brand I use. But not everything works well for me. The yellow bottle of Lactacyd is a no for me.

9. Shaver

I will have a razor in the shower. This will be for my legs. I shave like every 2-3days. This one is the 3 blades one. The refills are not as expensive as the 4 or 5 blades. But I buy them on sale anyway. I know you are suppose to throw away the blade after like a few uses, but I will only throw it away if I feel that it’s no longer sharp. And that is a personal feel. But ya, I prefer guy shaver as they are slightly cheaper. And I use conditioner to lather up, so no problem there.

So those are the things I usually have in my bathroom. Different brand, but same function. I wish we can have bath tubs in HDB. I want to use Lush bombs so badly. Oh well, we can’t have everything.

Sephora 8hr Mattifying Pressed Powder

I never knew the compact foundation and compact powder could be so different. The foundation is much better. They both are in powder form, and like powders, are all on the sheer side. Granted foundation has a better coverage. They both are meant to be mattifying. But, the powder is really quite useless. I feel like it just coat my face for a couple hours then that’s it.

The colour is also a bit different. The foundation is more yellow tone. I think the only nice thing about the powder is that it is much smaller. There is no sponge, no mirror. So basically you have to use your own brush or sponge to use. So it’s also not good to bring around. Ya, I wouldn’t recommend this.

Rouge Infusion The Neutrals 17 Petal

I’d used this so many time that the words just rub off. This is basically a gloss, but it claimed to be very long wearing. So I’m not sure if you can consider this a stain, cause it’s not exactly glossy and it sort of stain my hand after the swatch. I guess I will put it under lip lacquer.

This is the neutrals one shade Petal, a pretty pinkish nude. Maybe even on the mauve side. It’s really pretty on the lips, as long as you don’t move it to much. It’s not exactly easy to put on. As on the lips, it’s kind of pastel. So it takes time for me to make it even. Maybe it’s just my lips. But I do like that it stays on my lips for awhile. Longer than expected. Even though it says 10hours, and I don’t expect it to be. I still do get about 4 hours wear.

It’s 0.32 fl.oz. and has a very flowery perfume smell. I like it enough. Especially at the beginning when it’s so much easier to use. The longer I have it, the more it seems different. I guess it’s just me. Overall, I like this better than the cream lip stain.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 05

This colour remind me so much of the the Revlon lip stain that I regreted buying. I always find myself buying this kind of colour. Not sure why. This formula is slightly is better. It’s less drying, still quite dry and especially if you have chapped lips. But on good day lips, this looks quite decent. And it’s a really nice stain to wear. It doesn’t exactly stain the lips, but it’s longer lasting as compare to glosses or lipsticks. The colour is also a nice metallic neutral pink. The rest of the shades are mostly reds and darker. So I choose this which is more office friendly. But it’s not an easy lip product to use. Cause my lips is hardly perfect.

Sephora Mud Mask

Had to buy this cause I heard good reviews. Plus I want to compare this to GlamGlow. I know it’s quite impossible to compare, but nothing wrong with trying out.

This is said to be purifying and mattifying. And no, my skin doesn’t get less oily with frequent use. So no difference in that. It’s a very cool dark mask, just like all mud mask suppose to be I guess. It doesn’t smell any less weird that any mud mask I’d tried. In fact, I do like the scent of this. It’s quite deep and calming to me. It applied easily and will dry matte. Unfortunately not a peeling mask, so you have to wash it away.

It’s quite a painful mask if I’m honest. But no pain no gain, so I continue to use it. It doesn’t tingle, but it just hurt my face. Like my cheeks will just be in pain. So I don’t really leave the mask on for too long. Maybe 5 minutes if it’s unbareable, then I wash it away. Then again, I notice that it happened cause my face is not perfect. I have spots and it just irritate my skin.

I stop using for a good month or so as I was using other masks. Then I got a shock when I started using it again. For some weird reason, the masks turn out a bit grainy. I guess the mud is drying out, that’s my first thought. I’m not sure if it meant that it spoilt or something. But look at the amount of product I have left. I can’t just throw it away. Then upon researching and I found this draft post with the above photo, turn out the mask has always been that way. Silly me.

So here is a better look at how the mask is. It’s not a smooth mask for sure. It will still dry to be a matte lighter grey. That part is actually my fav part of mud mask. It’s still quite painful when applied to certain area on my face. But the more I use the better it gets. And see how much product I have left and I had use this a lot.

The mask is good. Takes some time to wash off the remains. But eventually leave the skin super smooth. In term of getting my skin to be better, I don’t really think so. Cause I still have spots. I feel GlamGlow is much better. Cause with GG I can see a difference even after the first use and I always want to use it. This, I can take a month pause. But I mean it’s not bad. It’s only S$29. So I mean you can’t compare it. Still fun to use if you want a mud mask. It’s not too expensive, it’s quite a fair amount and it will last you forever.

Sephora Blush Brush

I have $20 vouchers so it was just nice seeing this at a sale. I cant remember how much, but I think it was $16. Anyway, I just wanted this as it was a retractable brush. It will be nice for travelling. So I got it, regret it. It is not a soft brush. I like the retractable part. But the brush is quite hard. I mean it is fluffy and “soft” but its prickly. I don’t like that. Plus the thing about retractable is that it is hard to wash. Cause water will just get inside and it may get stuck or something. Maybe its in my head, but it is just not as easy to clean as the others.
